Are designer Covid masks the next wave of moral merchandising?

If you have been following the buzz around designer masks on social media, you may believe that fashion industry is having it’s very own “let them eat cake” moment. Three months ago, Virgil Abloh of Off-White launched a $1000 mask that was immediately waitlisted. Kim Kardashian’s skin-coloured masks were sold out within an hour.
